Messiah or President?

Scary, when an elected President is treated like a Messiah.

Dept. of Justice ignores presidential declaration
June 22, 6:30 AM · Trudy Schuett - Domestic Violence Examiner

http://www.mediaradar.org/A RADAR alert:

In his inaugural speech on January 20, President Obama declared, "We will restore science to its rightful place." And in a March 9 memo the president reminded the heads of federal agencies, "The public must be able to trust the science and scientific process informing public policy decisions."

Apparently the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) didn't get that message.

Because three months later the DoJ issued a report titled, Practical Implications of Current Domestic Violence Research. Sadly, the report cherry-picks the research and badly misrepresents the truth.

The report states on page 22: "Of course, the most powerful predictor of risk of domestic violence is gender." Apparently the DoJ never bothered to check out the nearly 250 scholarly studies that reveal gender is not a "powerful predictor" of violence because men and women are equally likely to abuse.

Some statements in the report lack common sense, for example, "Batterers are no more likely to be mentally ill than the general population." (p. 18). But psychologist Don Dutton found the opposite: "Studies have found incidence rates of personality disorders to be 80-90 percent in both court-referred and self-referred wife assaulters."

The report is no better when it recommends intervention strategies. For example, the DoJ advises on page 12: "Arrest should be the default position for law enforcement in all domestic violence incidents." But Harvard researcher Radha Iyengar found mandatory arrest increases the risk of subsequent homicide by 54%.

This report is a prime example of advocacy research that carries the relentless message, "It's always the man's fault, so go ahead and lock him up."

Politely and firmly, tell her to remove the report and have it reviewed by an independent panel of qualified researchers. Explain this report ignores President Obama's directive to rely on evidence-based policies.

Please do it now. We simply can't allow this libel to stand.

Justice, Equality, and Freedom, for whom? Justice is a song, that lady is blind, and so is anyone that thinks there is any such thing.
Equality, for whom, fathers day today! many not able to see their own son's or daughters take them to a park, A womens Rights movenment gone far beyond equality, what has is done to father's, behind closed family court door's . As women fought for equality, in work places, the RAN over men, they became nothing but wallets, to far to often , and denied access to children they love and never see. Heck they a big Brothers, in more ways then one, as Obama speaks of how FATHERS need to be
Freedom. NO your all suspects, your all gagged, Freedom of the Press? how much do they pay legals? WHO shall own them all in the end?
Childrens Rights? have you taken note who runs your house holds, at 11 over an I Pod, and a childs help line card, given at school, to call CAS, unless you buy IT now, daddy won't buy me an I pod, and mom wants me to do my homework, and clean up my mess, is that child labour? humm I will make a call and say you sent me to my room,
Read an Older Globe and Mail one on why children where removed, sent to her room?
or many other's a child grounded, a parent trying to protect yet another 12 year old with RIGHTs, to be stabbed at a rave. as The general public screams where are the parents, why is a 12 year old at a Rave, because they have rights. and no one better hear them scream and yell if you dare say no, IT will cost you $150,000 your job, and much more, to find out what happens when the CAS is called, for no abuse or neglect, while you don't sleep at night, worried they are now drugged, or worse, MUCH worse, for a temp stage we all went though, now called mental health, and NO regulations on the drugs being poured into your children. If they are then sexually abused in care, NO one owes you a duty of care, even if they were wrongfully removed.
